The battle of the Pelennor Fields

The land of Middle-earth was home to a multitude of races; some good, others evil. Men were but one of many peoples in the world, the majority of which were far older. However, by the start of the Fouth Age, the time had come for the dominion of Men and the beginning of the decline of all other 'speaking-peoples' in Middle-earth.

*Although Men have been listed under 'Races of the Light', this designation is not entirely accurate. Sadly, as many Men fought for Morgoth and Sauron as those who fought against them. The Easterlings and Haradrim are two examples of tribes of Men who were long allied to Sauron and fought for him in his campaign to dominate Middle-earth.
